Preparing for a winter sale

Despite the cooler weather and shorter days winter can be a great time to sell. Lower stock volumes in cooler times can create demand amongst buyers and an enticing time to sell. So how should you prepare your home for a winter sale?

Provide some winter warmth
Ensuring windows are clean will allow ample light in, while fixing draft-y windows or doors will keep cool air from making its way in.

If there is a heating system ensure it is running efficiently. Set your heating on and to a comfortable temperature for open for inspections.

Create a cool climate garden
Even though it is winter, your garden can still wow potential buyers. Consider planting some winter flora for a pop of colour โ€“ pansies love a cooler climate and come in a wide variety of colours.

Presenting your garden to the best of your ability will help people visualise what it might be like in other seasons. Do a once over the garden spotting any areas that may need attention such as sweeping pathways, removing dead leaves and trimming deciduous plants.

Style for winter warmth
Create a cosy atmosphere with quality woolen throw rugs in your living and sleeping areas. The use of lamps can create additional ambiance around the home while a wood fire sets the ultimate winter mood.
