Moving day survival kit

Moving house, while exciting, can be stressful and tiring. Although you’ve been preparing for months and have done all the right things like label or colour tag boxes, finding things on moving day can be a challenge.

Packing a survival kit will ensure you can quickly find items you need on the day without ripping open boxes. Your moving day survival kit items can be stored in a laundry basket, overnight bag, suitcase, buckets, cube crates or similar household item and be transported in the car with you.

So what kinds of items should you include in your moving day kit?

  • Snacks
  • Refreshments: tea, coffee, water, juice, milk, kettle, sugar
  • Toiletries: toilet paper, tissues, toothpaste and brushes, soap, deodorant, shampoo, hand towel etc
  • Bedding and towels
  • Toolkit for opening or putting things together or repairs on the fly: utility knife, scissors, screwdriver, Phillips head, hammer, pliers etc
  • A favourite toy for each child
