Meet Our Q4 CSP Grant Recipient

We’re proud to announce NewHope Community Care as the recipient of our Q4 2024 Community Support Grant. This Blackburn North-based organisation is making a real difference for families and individuals facing food insecurity in our local community.

NewHope Community Care is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing relief, developmental and advocacy care through a variety of programs and services. Their offerings include food relief, free English classes, mentoring support and more, all with a focus on empowering people to transform their lives with ongoing hope. At the heart of their work is a busy Food Pantry that provides non-perishable food and basic toiletries to those in the community facing food insecurity. Operating from their Springfield Road location in Blackburn North, NewHope serves anyone who may find themselves in need of food assistance, including the long-term unemployed and families in crisis.

Our Community Support Grant will help NewHope keep their Food Pantry well-stocked with essential staples including milk, cereal, breakfast items, pasta, rice, canned goods, tea, coffee, spreads, toiletries such as soap, deodorant and toothpaste, household essentials like laundry powder and dishwashing liquid, plus toilet paper and nappies. The funding will boost their current monthly budget and ensure that everyone who walks through their doors receives the care and practical support they need.

Alicia Demond, Grants Coordinator at NewHope Community Care, shared: “NewHope Community Care is so grateful to Noel Jones for their generous Community Support Grant and their commitment to the wider community. This funding will help us keep our Food Pantry stocked with essential items like milk, cereal, pasta, canned vegetables, and toilet paper โ€” ensuring that those in our community experiencing food insecurity and crisis receive the care and practical support they need.”

NewHope Community Care is always looking for volunteers to join their team. Volunteers help prepare food hampers each Monday, deliver hampers to those in need, and staff the relief desk to support people seeking assistance. If you’d like to learn more about NewHope Community Care or get involved as a volunteer, visit their website at newhopecare.net.au or contact them at 03 9890 7999.

NewHope Community Care is located at 3 Springfield Road, Blackburn North VIC 3130 and is supported by our Noel Jones Blackburn office.
